Welcome to EatFortWayne
March 29, 2026
EatFortWayne exists because Fort Wayne doesn't have a good, independent restaurant guide. There are review sites that rank by popularity. There are apps that sell placement. There are social media accounts that post what they're paid to post. None of that tells you where to actually eat.
This site is different. Here's what we're building and why.
Every restaurant in Fort Wayne, in one place
We pulled data from the Allen County Health Department, OpenStreetMap, and years of hand-curated local knowledge. Right now the guide includes over 1,400 restaurants, food trucks, and eateries across the city. Some listings are detailed. Some are bare. We're honest about what we know and what we're still filling in.
Local restaurants come first
Chains are listed because they exist, but local spots get priority. They get better visual placement, warmer styling, and more attention. That's not an accident. Local restaurants are the reason Fort Wayne is worth eating in. They deserve to be seen without paying for it.
No pay-to-play
No restaurant pays to be listed. No listing is boosted because someone bought an ad. No featured placement is for sale. If we highlight something, it's because we think it's worth highlighting.
Built on real data, scored for accuracy
Every restaurant in the guide has a confidence score based on how much verified data backs it up. Cross-referenced addresses, confirmed hours, known cuisine types, active inspection records. The more we can verify, the higher the score. Restaurants with thin data are still listed, but the guide is transparent about what's confirmed and what isn't.
Where this is going
Staff picks are coming. These won't be crowdsourced ratings or star systems. They'll be specific, opinionated recommendations from people who eat here. One voice, not a thousand anonymous ones.
We're also building out neighborhood guides, cuisine deep dives, and coverage of new openings. Fort Wayne's food scene is growing faster than most people realize, and it deserves a guide that keeps up.
Get in touch
If we're missing a restaurant, have something wrong, or you just want to tell us about a place we need to try: reach out. This guide gets better when people who care about Fort Wayne food help build it.
